Omnistar Email Marketing Software has a built in bounced email manager
that you can configure to automatically unsubscribe
or completely remove email addresses following a bounce.
This improves the success rate of your campaigns,
and by automating the system we make using our software
easier than ever.
Follow the steps below to configure bounced email
management.

STEP 1: Have bounces go to a dedicated
account
Email Marketing Software allows you to input the return address that
bounced emails will be delivered to. Set this address
to the same dedicated bounced email account for each
campaign. This will ensure that all the bounced email

STEP 2: Enter email information
On the Processed Bounced Emails page you will need
to enter the server address and login information
for your dedicated bounced email account. Select whether
you would like to delete the emails on the server
each time it checks for new mail.

STEP 3: Set the system's response
Select how you would like to respond to hard and
soft bounces. Hard bounces occur when a server does
not exist at the domain or when an address doesnt
exist on the server. A soft bounce means the user
is experiencing some sort of problem with their email
server, but the address does exist.
The system can ignore bounces, remove bounced users
from the mailing list but leave their email in the
system, or delete the user altogether. Select which
option you would like to take for each type of bounce.
Select whether you wish to notify admin, if you check

email handling
If you wish to have the system automatically check
for bounced emails, run the chron job on the Process
Bounced Emails page on your server. Emails will automatically
be analyzed and the prescribed action will be taken
for the email address in question.
